I mentioned in this previous post how much I am a jumpsuit collector. There is something about jumpsuits that just does it for me. I keep buying variations of them to keep my wardrobe fresh with options. I found this cutie while window shipping one day. It’s so COMFORTABLE! It’s also cool and versatile for errands or for doing more serious life stuff like lunch and client meetings. It’s just one piece, so no fuss putting together different parts. Just add accessories, a pair of earrings, a crossbody bag, sneakers
If you want to experiment with jumpsuits, here are a few tips to picking out your first one or a better fitted one if you had problems with fittings in the past.
Tips for picking the perfect jumpsuit
- Material matters: your body type (not only your size) will set the stage for the type or cut to shop for. I am curvy so I always like jumpsuits that have elasticity, or stretch. jersey material, poly blends or very loose designs are ideal for my body type and size. Especially since comfort is ranked high for me.
- Seek style: Look for What style compliments you best. For example, I am not big on halter tops in general. So I won’t go out looking for a haltered jumpsuit. Not because I don’t like halters, because I do. However, I am often conscious of exposing my top parts so I don’t enjoy wearing halters as much. You want to avoid coming off as not being confident when wearing what you pick out. If you think you will be pulling and tucking to keep everything in its place, don’t buy it.
- Keep underwear in mind: yeap, jumpsuits can show off all your beautiful lusciousness. Wearing the right underwear is very important ESPECIALLY if you are wearing it to a function or mingling with a reserved audience. I recommend wearing seamless under panties or a thong. However, when wearing a thong, there can be a lot of bootie jiggling even though you won’t be showing off you panty lines. So keep a Blazer handy if the material is soft like jersey fabric.
I hope this post is helpful getting you fitted for the right jumpsuit for your body type. I would love to see how you styled it. Post comments below or use #fmstyleblog on Instagram so I can cheer you on. XOXO
