Two Blazer Styles for Your Work Wardrobe

Blazers are everyday classic wardrobe staples for work that I like to incorporate regularly in my “what to wear to work” wardrobe. There is nothing like stepping into a corporate setting dressed in a blazer. I still have a 9-5 job working for an IT company, and it amazes me how much how you look really matters.

Blazers leave an impression of professional style, and you can wear them year-round. You can wear almost anything with a blazer, and it can transform the statement of an outfit.

Blazer Compare

In this post, I share two different blazer cuts I am wearing with one outfit.

I am big on tailored blazers like this Tommy Hilfiger elbow patch and I rarely wear blazers with a straight cut or oversized. Generally, I favor the tailored cut in a blazer because it accentuates my natural waistline and follows my curves. This type of design brings across a custom-fitted look. Add elbow patch details and it’s a wrap, I’m buying it!

However, this straight-cut blazer from 1. Slate surprised me. It has a clean straight cut, and it’s very comfortable but not baggy. I am amazed at how well this blazer fits, and the plaid stripes are stunning. Some blazers have tight sleeves, which makes wearing a sweater under it impossible. But I comfortably wore a light pullover sweater with this 1. Slate plaid blazer. The sleeves are designed ruffled, making it easy to wear them pushed up (superfly)!

Style + Comfort

Comfort and style go hand in hand as far as my style preference goes. So when you shop for blazers, no matter how gorgeous it is, make sure it fits comfortably for your body type. It’s so obvious when someone is trying to wear an outfit that does not work for their body. You should be confident and bold in meetings at work and ready to participate. Not hiding in the back feeling self-conscious of how you look or feel in your clothes.

As you experiment with blazers, you will start to favor a particular cut that fits well with your body type. I say indulge in what works. But keep an open mind and be willing to try out other style cuts. You might be surprised to find different kinds of blazers to diversify your wardrobe for work.
