I call these early days of fall where the weather is trying to figure out whether to be hot or cold, and we get both temps, fall-phase one. This phase of fall is the perfect time to get away with adding summer and light fall pieces together and still be fashionable and comfortable.
For the past few years, I have been daring to wear shorts and with confidence. However, I decided to go a little further and venture down that same brave path to wear shorts during the early fall season.
Here are a few pieces I like to pair my favorite summer shorts with during the fall to give my outfits that edgy fall fabness.
Add a Blazer
Being able to transition from your outfit throughout the day is essential at this stage of the fall season. You need to be ready to switch comfort gears to go from chilly mornings, to warm afternoons without packing an extra bag with a change of clothes. A beautiful blazer is perfect for making that snappy decision and stay on key with your intended style. Oversized blazers are trending now, but I will likely always go for a tailored blazer. It’s my preferred blazer cut. Add elbow patches, and you can’t tell me I’m not cute. I grabbed this sky blue blazer by Tommy Hilfiger during this year’s Labor Day sale at Macy’s.
Add a Grayson Linen Long Sleeve Shirt
That’s right; I said linen! No more taboo about wearing white and linen after Labor Day. This striped linen shirt by Grayson is ABSOLUTELY the best for fall weather. If you get warm later in the day, you tried dropping the blazer but still need to cool down further; you can unbutton this shirt a notch, and roll up the sleeves. The linen material is also the perfect weight to let in a breeze.
Wear Booties
Booties are so versatile. From early fall to the hard of winter, you can sport a beautiful pair of booties. Leopard print booties are the HOTEST now. They can add so much excitement to your fall outfit. Don’t hesitate to try out different colors and patterns.
It took me a long time to decide to wear short pants. Now that I am over that hurdle, short pants are staples in my summer and early fall wardrobe.
